czech, belgian, italian and other euro expats in uruguay

i suppose this is what multiculturalism means in south america . . .

the clinker hoppers are from the czech republic (or former czechoslovakia i guess) :

the ballast hoppers are from belgium: http://www.afe.com.uy/galeria_fotos/vag ... ot021.html

the boxcars are italian : http://www.afe.com.uy/galeria_fotos/vag_carga-ital.html

while the cement hoppers look very european :

don't know quite what to make of the last one but it surely is interesting. looks like a cement hopper interpreted as a gaudi cathedral . . .

are there matches for any of these in the current range of european TT?

regards, ben

The Czechoslovak hopper was produced in TT by ES Pecky in 1990's.

The prototype is an old hopper from Czechoslovakia manufactured by Vagonka Studenka in 1952 - 1967. They were never manufactured in the Czech Republic, but 605 of them were transferred from CSD to CD in 1993.

Info from the manufacturer:
The model was designed for the old BTTB couplers. Therefore they do not make it anymore. Conversion to new Tillig/Kuehn couplers with kinematics is not planned at the moment.
Minimum order: 50 hoppers.

I wonder, if any wagon from Uruguay or any other South American country can come to USA by rails?..

I don't think so.
As far as I know, there are several missing links between the networks of the various railroads. Additionally, there is no uniform gauge in South America. Different regions—different gauges. No chance to go all the way.
