custom resin casting?

Postby Marquette » Sat Jun 14, 2014 10:59 am

So I had a thought and got wondering if anyone knows of someplace/someone that will do custom resin castings if you give them the master?

Hi Xen,
I'm not sure if they do custom work or not, but Kaslo shops would be close to you- http://www.kasloshops.com/
And maybe even Bill D. could help you out? His resin cars are fantastic!
If those don't work, there's a (nearly dead) resin casting group on Yahoo. I know there were a couple guys on ther ethat offered custom casting, but no idea on price, quality, etc..

Okay I totally forgot about Kaslo...

I got to thinking that I'm going to want a number of F3s and F7s, and it occurred to me that resin is much easier to work with than the hyponeutronium Lionel used for their shells... if I could get a casting of that, I could much more easily modify the resin shell appropriately... and then get some castings made of /those/...

I don't think a professional resin caster would make copies of a commercially produced master. Copyright laws and such.
