I'm back from the game. Congratulations Team USA! That was very good and entertaining, despite the very, very poor air quality :thumbup:

Just saw the highlights in our sports news. That was an amazing goal from 1/2 way.

A fitting redux to the 1999 Women's World Cup victory.

In some small way... I'd like to think I had an influence in the progress of Women's football;

W-A-Y back in 1974, I was a co-founder (with Kathy Kelly) of the Bay Area Women's Soccer league (BAWSL)... still going strong on the local level, and about to host the 38th annual Kelly Cup. http://www.eteamz.com/BAWSL.

I had played football (REAL... not American) at San Jose State, and had a state-level referee license. I quit the San Jose Industrial League when we won 2nd division... and got promoted to 1st division which included reserve players from the San Jose Earthquakes!

I coached Women's teams... and then my daughters... and took them to see World Cup (mens) games at Stanford in 1994.

I ended my adult playing career on a Red Card... playing forward instead of my normal left-back position; It was a 50/50 ball between me and the keeper... I won the ball... He was only knocked-out cold for a few seconds???

I am lucky to have a wife who both appreciates TT-scale trains... and WANTS to follow Premier League, Champions League, Copa America, and World Cup qualifiers... Life is Good.

Life is good --- lol is that all you can say! that sounds like utopia to a mere male like me. My wife hates the whole damn lot with trains at the top of the hit list
