Another Shapeways oddball, I wish the designer would do this one of his instead-

(Yes, I sent him a message a while ago but no response!)
The AS16 carbody could be used for 5 or 6 different Baldwin models (with different trucks), the only differences were the location of the radiator in the end. And it would cover almost 600 units for around 30 different railroads. I'd like to have 4 or 5, but scratchbuilding one will be a chore! The sides and cab would be fairly easy since it's so square, but all those louvers...

to be honest, the babyface isn't much good. the cab area is a difficult look to replicate, and the model doesn't capture it unfortunately.

I requested for it to be upsized but when it was done I realised it didn't look much like the real thing. the nose and cab seem compressed and the windshield does not merge in a gentle angle into the nose, like the real thing. however, as the designer had upscaled it, I got curious and ordered an A&B set. if anyone wants it, i'm happy to sell mine half price. don't think i'll be using it.
