Cleaning the Goop Off Shapeways Materials

Cleaning the Goop Off Shapeways Materials

Postby CSD » Sun Feb 19, 2012 8:50 pm

Hello Folks. The question has been asked before regarding the removal of the wax like residue left behind by the Shapeways process. I have found a quick and easy method. Powdered Comet cleaner (Ajax would probably work too) plus water and a soft toothbrush. Works like a charm. I simply wet the brush, stick it into the powder and polish away.

With the gondolas that we have, I found that a slightly warm water helps, too.

That material is a bit different than the one we're discussing. The WSF (which the gon is made of) just needs some warm soapy water and it's good to go.
