It will take some time to get the models. I have received some pictures from Chris' daughter and I think that those pictures can be used for inspiration. Unfortunately, the layout and the houses are lost.

Thanks JP!
Maybe you could put them in the Gallery, so they don't get buried when this topic drops down?

Does anyone know if the ore cars are/were a kit or scratch built?
Thanks,

I think they were from scratch, I don't think I've seen any others in TT like it. But it could be something Chris Bashed as well, he was a master at such things!

Hmm, Al, I have a very similar car, you presented it to me not so long ago!

Hi Bernd,

Actually, if I recall correctly, the mine was originally built in HO by Jack Work, who did several HO scratch building articles for Model Railroader magazine in the sixties. It was later made as an injection molded kit by Pola, and sold originally in the USA by AHM (who morphed into IHC). The kit was made in both HO, and then later on in N scale, and after the demise of AHM/IHC, was released under other labels, and may have ended up in the Model Power line. I think Walthers has announced a re-release of some of the other old Pola/AHM HO kits that have been O/S for several years, so the mine kit may return again in the future, though afaik, it was never tooled up in 1:120 (TT) scale...

That engine shed in the top pic was the "One Square Foot" module Chris built for (and won first prize with) in the Empire's contest a couple years back.. I didn't see that listed in the auction, I hope the family has it and it didn't get thrown out!
