Cabooses from Ingo Schwaetzer

Cabooses from Ingo Schwaetzer

Postby areibel » Wed Nov 05, 2014 5:17 pm

Hi Group!
I got an email from Ingo Schwaetzer about several caboose kits he has for sale. They're etched brass with cast details and are probably the easiest etched kits to build. He has a standard steel center cupola, a bay window, an extended vision and an early steel offset cupola available, I will attempt to attach a PDF that shows pictures. Prices vary between 50 and 65 Euros, less decals. If you have any questions contact Ingo at ingo.schwaetzer@yahoo.de .

I own the "Standard Cupola Caboose", built by Christian Kühr. It looks good. I haven't yet a picture of my UP caboose. I know, the UP paint scheme on it is non exemplary.

And here a picture of the kit "Early Steel Offset Cupola Caboose".

The last picture I have, is a one of the kit "Bay Window Caboose C-50-5".

Here is the kit compared to a prototype SP C-50-5...

IMHO...
The windows are 'off'... (I know of no SP cabooses with square windows...)
But it will still make it onto my Christmas List. A good-looking kit!

I think, at the assembly kit are small pieces of etched metal sheets to close the windows. This was so at the kit of the "Bay
Window Caboose" and "Standard Cupola Caboose". Look at the PDF-file at the first posting. You can see good the sealed window at the red CNW. Square windows are a negative point :( but okay, I have ordered two of these cabooses.

For more of prototype see here.

Ingo has 5 different cabooses available, The extended vision, 2 bay windows, standard center cupola, and an offset cupola.

I'm not quite smart enough to figure out how to post the pic he sent(DOH!), but there are pics of a couple of them at Siggi's-
http://www.siggis-modellbahn-shop.eu/index.php?k=70 Or from Ingo himself at ingo.schwaetzer@yahoo.de

Alex, if it's OK I'll forward the pic to you and you can post it? I can't get it to save, copy or whatever, dang high tech stuff!

Yup, thatt's one of them. But he sent me a pic of all five, I can open it but I can't save it, or even copy it and paste it in.
