Hi Ben,

Yes, of course. I wasn't thinking of that. :doh: You'd have to replace the muff with a longer one instead of just pulling the stubs out 1.5mm per side.

No, it wouldn't be a matter of just respacing the half-axles. But my worry was that longer 'half axles' would bow unless the muff was also lengthened. I may be wrong on that, but getting longer muffs would not be easy.

I might buy a Farish or Euro loco one of these days and play around with it, as many of them don't have the half axles. With NWSL wheels on longer axles, there probably isn't any reason why it might not work.

The question is the wheelbase and finding something right. A GP with Blomberg trucks ought to be 17mm in N and that is about right for the spacing of half an SD truck in TT.

The only trouble with relying on such things is that if the N loco manufacturer redesigns his mech, he is certainly not going to take TT convertability into account, so that may stuff things up.
