BR41's

BR41's

Postby areibel » Mon Jan 13, 2014 5:12 pm

Is there a model of the BR41's available? I see mention of one from Beckmann, and one from a company called Kittler but a quick look on Ebay.de doesn't show any TT scale models.. It looks like the Kittler one is an older model? They only show it in their "archive", if I'm reading it right. And the Beckmann is a new one, maybe not released yet?

Referring to "Modellbau-Wiki" (http://www.modellbau-wiki.de/wiki/Hauptseite), there were three manufacturers offering it.

See http://www.modellbau-wiki.de/wiki/BR_41#Spur_TT.
  • Kittler made them in 2004.
  • MMM (no idea who that is) made them in 2006.
  • And Beckmann has offered them since 2010.

But recently, we have discovered that information on this site is not always correct. Sometimes, there are models marked as made although they were only advertized but not actually made.

Beckmann announced BR41 two years ago, but I do not know, if they produced it in fact...

I believe they're still working on it. It's on their "new releases" page http://www.beckmanntt.de/sites/neuheiten.html

It is said that Beckmann at last put it on the market

The price increased up to 329 Euro (for the analog version)

You can still pre-order from MBS for less than that - http://www.mbs-sebnitz.de/tt-dampflok-b ... ep-iv.html

Beautiful Lok, but unfortunately I just wanted one for a base to build a US prototype on.. I'd hate to spend that money on something I'm just going to tear apart for the drivers and chassis!

The drivers are too small on the BR56 and too big for the 23's- the 41 is perfect, and to me if the driving wheels aren't close to the correct size then the wheelbase is off and the locomotive doesn't look "right".
I'm too much of a rivet counter! The HP Mikado is actually closer than the BR23, but if you have to stretch the boiler to fit the bigger wheelbase it makes it look odd. Plus the BR41 would have better valve gear and such, so you could get closer to what the original looked like.
