HAHA! Good ad - I'm guessing our German friends may disagree....

In Russia the soft drink is available, named "Molotov cocktail". :)

It's a bit mean towards Germany isn't it? "we downed all your planes"...

Yet, nobody reproached me for not having sense of humour.

And besides, in Germany it's socially not accepted to identify oneself with that decade of German history...

Few jokes about British pilots in German airports:

1. Some German airport. German pilot is trying to speak German with traffic controller (dispatcher) by radio.
Dispatcher: Speak English, please!
German pilot: Why?! I am German, driving German airplane in German airport, why can't I speak with German dispatcher in German language?!
British Airways' pilot: Because YOU lose the war...

2. Airport of Frankfort. British Airways' plane can't land correctly; the pilot is dulling.
Dispatcher: aircraft # 12345, what's going on?! Haven't you ever been in Frankfort?!
Pilot: Why not; I did. But at that time, in 1944, I didn't land...

I am amazed that this kind of advert is still allowed in the UK, although it is meant as a bit of fun I can think of a whole lot of different races of people who would want to see them banned if they was aimed at them. To the credit of the Germans they are one of the few races of people that now we in the UK can poke a bit of fun at and who do not start shouting and moaning for them to be banned. So they do have a sense of humour after all, and anyway me and my mate have secret favourite old wartime plane of FW 190 (but don't tell anybody)

Every German I've met or talked to (even online using translators) has had a healthy sense of humor. Regarding the beer ad, it struck as possibly offensive because I've become so used to everything being politically correct here in the states.

I dont know if people here actually care to be politically correct or they're just scarred of getting shot or sued :)

"Political correctness" is the little brother of "cowardice", isn't it?
