But I don't regret a thing

If it makes you feel any better, I've cheated as well. I'm very impressed with Rapido models and ended up buying a couple locomotives. But, they're for display only :) only TT layouts.

I couldn't resist- I'm an SP fan, the Tunnel Motors were always a favorite of mine, and when Scale Trains announced this one I was hooked.. These pictures don't do justice to how it looks in person. Looking at all the fine detail does drive me a little nuts though, this locomotive is top of the line, DCC /Sound and cost $259. Maybe the Boss can hack their factory in China and reprogram their machinery to crank out some that were, oh, 72.5% smaller without them knowing it?

A nice Tunnel Motors SD40T-2 with a long nose. I also have some HO models. My last purchase was an RTA F40PH and a RI bi-level commuter car. I couldn't find a car from the RTA. Maybe I'll repaint the car.

Yep Scale Trains is good stuff. I've seen their turbine in person - very impressive.

If I get my four remaining HO locos out now they'll seem huge compared to TT. Just as TT seemed tiny when I went back to it.
But is this the thin end of the wedge, areibel? You only need about four feet plus fiddle yard to make an HO switching layout...

Yeah but think of how much more you can fit in that space with TT ;)

With our group AMREG once a year I have the chance to drive my bigger trains. Here is my SD70ACe at the sand filling station. Now she is on my desk for repair. The MTH decoder does not work anymore. She now receives a TCS WOW Sound.
