Status Report 20September2017:

1.) Layout assembly underway - Layout frame is complete, base coat of paint applied.
2.) Participation Increase in progress, so far so good
3.) Locos 14/12
4.) Railcars 17/24
5.) Vehicles 12/12

My North American proto loco made of Tri-Ang parts has been fixed up and is serviceable, aside from needing a tender to connect to rolling stock. The loco needs to complete it's cosmetic refit, but other than that, it is alive and kicking.

In preparation for the 2017 Charleston Area Train Show, we are considering repainting a few locos to be Possum Central Railway locomotives. The trick is to determine a good paint scheme for both Passenger and Freight motive power.

Any suggestions?

I am actually quite surprised how well the HP E-7A runs on 310mm bedding track, just don't expect to couple anything to it though.

I think that loco is a good candidate for a new paint job.

We are open to suggestions for livery.

Paint schemes are a personal matter, any prototypical ones that you like that were original buyers of the E7? Do you have the screen grill coverings for the loco also? John

We do have grill covers for most of our E-7s (We have something like 6 A units, 2 or 3 B units, along with a bunch of parts, as well (partial shells, wheels, and such).

We like Southern Railway (no B units), and Union Pacific (A and B units). We also like "fantasy" schemes as well.

Which colors do you prefer? Should it be a simple paint scheme? I think SR isn't easy to paint. The UP has the curves on the roof. Perhaps helpful: http://www.zealot.com/threads/fantasy-railroads.113727/

I agree, Southern Railway is a little hard to pull off with my skills as they are right now.

Perhaps a Chessie System-esque scheme would look nice.
