Arseny's layout

Arseny's layout

Postby Arseny » Tue Mar 18, 2014 10:33 am

So, guys, although I am worrying about the situation with Ukraine and our ... prezident, nevertheless I am slowly building my layout. I suppose there will be no economiс sanctions against me personally... :?

I decided to open new topic devoted to it.

So, I decided to build TT-copy of the "Virginian" layout published in Model Railroader in 2012, but I had to simplify it a little.

we discussed it here:
january-2012-model-railroader-project-layout-t1361-10.html

I started in this topic:
i-ve-moved-to-the-new-flat-t1869.html

So this is the starting point - the wooden frame:

I've put it on the legs with casters, so I can move the table with the layout all along the room and turn it around if I want.

The "Virginian" is a pretty good small layout I think. I look forward to pictures of progress!

I'm curious which actions of which government you are referring to (it seems that there are 2 governments in Ukraine). Feel free to PM me if you don't want to share with the board.

I am Russian and live in Russia; as I know there is only 1 government in Russia for today
I am talking about Russian invasion into Crimea, and annexation of Crimea, carried out by Russia.
(A lot of Russians support it, and it is very pity)

As concerns Ukraine - in fact there is only 1 government in Ukraine too (except Crimea).
Former president Yanukovych escaped to Russia, and does not have any power anywhere in the Ukraine today (even his party and his former companions do not support him now); although they did not perform procedure of impeachment, so juridically, nominally he remains a president. Strange situation.

As I know from Nikolay (RailTT), some other Ukrainian fellows and Ukrainian media - things are going well in Kiev and in Ukraine generally. There are no any disorders or disturbances in Kiev or near it (nor Russian troops also ). There are some disorders in eastern part of Ukraine (inhabited by ethnic Russians mostly), but it seems to me they are not too significant and will get quiet soon.

I hope this crisis will be settled without big war. At least, Nikolay told me that he is agreed to give up Crimea to me if I send him a bottle of vodka. 8-)

As for me, I do not have any tanks or armored cars even in TT.

P.S.
