I found an interesting project for the layout control by Arduino and smart devices like phone, and tablet.

Maybe it is interesting also for some of you guys!
I have not tried yet, but I will soon or later.

So it's not dcc. It's dc through arduino. There is a possibility to make dcc through arduino

The goal is different. To run "old fashion" layouts on modern way without (expensive) DCC and to collect experiences with modern electronic. It is not off the shelf (OTS) project, but offering almost everything what you need on a simple and cheap way.

Last week I found a bag full of arduino devices and boards in the recycling area of my apartment building. Hope to learn how it all works and put it to use. Thanks for the link. It will be helpful.
