Apollo 11 +45

Postby AstroGoat760 » Sun Jul 20, 2014 7:00 pm

For those who were not aware, today is the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 landing on the moon, something that is worth reflecting on at least for a bit.

I wonder how hard it would be to make a TT scale moon layout...

One benefit of being old, I actually got to watch it! I was almost 8, and remember watching it on the COLOR (woo hoo!!) TV at my grandparent's house.. Of course I think most of the live pictures were B&W so the color didn't make much difference but still cool memories.

Well, no, there's been Mir since and now the ISS, and Berlin 1989 was grand too... too bad the possibilities that all the grandness opened were all squandered away in favour of short-term desires and next-quarter profits.
