9 Foot Power Truck

I started with a block of mdf and then glued on the angled supports. Then it was just a buch of trimming and sanding so it would fit inside the shell. After that I sealed it with lacquer and then made a two piece silicone mold. Other than the 4 hour wait for each side of the mold to set up it went pretty quick.

Very very interesting and the weight you've achieved is fantastic!

Alex, how does the size of the Mashima motor you have compare to the Atlas ones? And do they have the same little mounting collar at each end?

I haven't measured the exact dimension but the Mashima is slightly narrower - by a mm or so. The "mounting collar".....sort of. The two sides are different. I'll take a few pics tomorrow and post them.

Thanks, if this turns out to be a better motor, if it will work for me, if it is comparable in price, and if it is available in larger quantities, I may give it a try. Lots of "if's" in TT :wall:

Hey Rob here's the motor in question (all the dimensions are in one of the pics). Note the terminals at one end and the difference in ends in general. It comes with two small screws and two small screw holes on one end - I assume for mounting. I still haven't come up with a way to mount it that I'm happy with. Note that it's a 5 pole motor vs the Atlas 3 pole.

I paid 150Kc for shipping - you'll have to check the current conversion rates - and used PayPal. No idea about the quantities that can be ordered, I haven't inquired yet.

Hope this helps.

Thanks Alex. Size-wise it looks like it will work. And a little narrower would be good for the GP-9's

Did a little checking and see that 3SMR carries these. Maybe I'll shoot Malcolm an email and see about quantities and maybe a price break.
