And how do you propose the 1:120 yard workers to load and unload the pickles? :D

Using thin styrene, balsa wood, or basswood is out of the question due to the brittleness of the material, and the tendency for the wood types to crack apart when curved.

Now the question is how to affix the scribed brass vats to the car.

Any suggestions?

I used scribed wood glued around plastic tubing.

If you wet the scribed side the wood it will warp and begin to arc.

You can then wrap it around the tubing or wooden plugs without fear of spitting.

The back side will be dry so it will be easy to glue or epoxy.

Sounds like a good idea, but with 2 of the vats made out of brass, I do not want to scrap them.

Plus, finding tubing in a short enough length is difficult, I do not want to have to buy a 8' stick of pipe for a few short segments.

Perhaps that idea will be used in the next vat car.
