433.002 Freight Trip

This video is very well filmed. It really brings the past alive in a way I could have never witnessed myself. The locomotive is a 433.0 Czechoslovakian State Railways steamer nicknamed "Matěj". I found it interesting because most nostalgic retro train trips include passengers.

In the early 1990'ies there were also in East Germany steam powered freight trains operated and their schedules published. They were especially for railfans and photographers. And there were lots of them using this chance. May be, I'll eventually search and hopefully also find some video of that.

Nice vid. Steam locos always look like they're working so hard. With all the smoke and steam and drive gear going nuts :)

What about this one?

Series 41 and 65.10 with regular freight and passenger trains (mainly freight) in February of 2006 in western Thuringia.

^^^Nice. AnotherTTnut rode on the 41 during his last trip to Germany and shared some of the pictures with me. Beautifully preserved locomotive.

If you sort through the videos, he has a bunch of 80's and 90's in service steam locomotive from Germany and Poland.

These ones are good too: http://www.youtube.com/user/gekovideo/v ... rid&view=0
