Latching bar placement. From what I've worked out from the photos in the RP cyc's it should placed where the 2 x moulded strap bars end so that it does not hang below the bottom of the hopper bins.

Hope these shots help solve the problem. Probably be a good idea if I add them to the instruction sheets

Looks like the new camera with the macro lens might have been a good ( but expensive ) investment after all !
Trouble is the battery is now flat so, next lot showing etch detailing will have to wait until tomorrow.

These shots are of the cars that were used for the photo stickers on the kits. They are in rattle can grey primer although they look blue in the sticker photos. The etched pieces have just been glued in place, not drilled.
It's very easy to run out of # 80 & 79 drill bits!

Looks like I'll have to read the drivers manual and work out how to do depth of field shots with a macro. Another thing I haven't done for many years.

Made time to get two quick pictures of the new hopper car.

Here just sitting on a siding.

And here at the end of a short train.

As it has not been weighted yet nothing was behind it.

Some progress with the trucks - at last. The details on the National B-1 are now a lot more respectable. Not perfect but, seems to be as good as it's going to get, without starting all over again with a different toolmaker. The Andrews truck is AOK. The mounting pins are done but, a fraction thin. This will be sorted next week and then it's all systems go!
