Sat through a Great clinic on animating cranes. Great ideas.
A fast supper and on to a clinic on small switching layout design.

In the sig room Seth Neumann was showing samples of the Model Railroad Control Systems (http://www.modelrailroadcontrolsystems.com) simple low cost signals.l

These simple low cost signal heads would be a good start to a signalling system. Not to far out of scale for TT

Took the commuter train downtown, had dinner at Red Iguana (the chocolate mole was to die for) and toured the LDS temple grounds (impressive).

Tomorrow I am planning a short trip out the city (details later) and at 2 pm back to the convention centre for registration and unloading.

The Spiral Jetty on the Great Salt Lake has been on my bucket list for quite a while now. I rented a truck and went there this morning. It's an awesome place (as in the original meaning of awesome). No other humans in a 15 mile radius and so quiet, it hurts your ears. The perfect place to watch the sunrise. The fact that is near the Golden Spike site is a bonus.

The NMRA office to pick up your hall badges is at the north end of the building.
They let us into the display hall a bit after two to unload.
Tables arrived a bit after three including the extra two I ordered. Bonus - they were new plastic tables thirty inches wide instead of the twenty-four inch ones I had been told we would get. Because they were new, levelling was a snap. We moved one poor table to a safe spot and only put shims under the ends of two tables.
With Show permission we made our display one foot wider.
We have all the modules setup on the tables, with space for Richard. Some connected but none levelled.
We figured out how to use the folding reverse loop in the staging yard.
The hall was hot and unairconditioned today.
They kicked us out at 6pm and we went for dinner at Sizzlers. Uninspired meal.
We start again tomorrow at nine am.
We have electrical work on three modules and then to properly level them all.
A shot of the display hall.

Already had many questions. The NMRA Show staff have been great!

Arriving 3AM Thursday, I waited until transit began operating and rode the light rail train from the Amtrak station directly to the exhibition building. Waited there until it opened and was the first in for TT. Two photos are TT setup as Tibi and Bill had left it, and a view of the rest of the area as set up started. Other photos are the results by late afternoon. Richard Brennan arrived mid - afternoon, making us a group of four this weekend. Or maybe three-and-a-half. I was like a zombie from travel fatigue.

We had a very good dinner together and await the show opening Friday morning.

I'm still amazed at how much layout you guys have actually assembled. The TTTracks idea was gold.
