First thing I test ran a Triang TT-Scale steam engine. Ran pretty good except for the noise. The passenger cars had issues with the number six crossover. Their back to back wheel spacing is only 9mm. The crossover was modified to handle wheel sets with a 10mm spacing. Going to work on the cars to widen their wheel spacing.

If can make these work we will have a third set of equipment to run

Interesting that the loco itself didn't give you problems with the crossover because Triang loco back-to-backs are usually too narrow for modern turnouts, and they also need a bit of force to widen.

Old tech on new equipment.

For the longest time I have had painted but unlettered wood side reefers. Just didn't get around to making decals for them.
So I decided to try an old method, printed paper sides.
An image showed up that I wanted to.use so I resized it, cut it out and glued it to a reefer side, after I removed all the cast on detail.
Here is my new car along side an original paper side cars from years ago.
One side is a bit off but otherwise doesn't look too bad.

Survived the weekend. Today was ..pick a term.. Hot! Both days this weekend were hot. The layout was getting cranky. Shut down at 4:30pm. Packed up and went to Red Robin for a burger and Beer.

Ran the GuiTTar display off and on. Worked on equipment until I ran out of truck screws and Micro Trains couplers. Got seven pieces of equipment into or back into service. Started dissecting an old HP caboose to repaint and redecal. Productive inspite of the heat.

Going to do this again on the Labor Day long weekend on September. Just two days though.
Going to redesign the layout smaller for the same space with a lot of setback from the edges.

Too hot to unload tonight. Will do it tomorrow morning when it is cooler.

Sounds like a sterling effort by all involved.

Despite the horrid weather and screaming kids, it was a successful display.
Terry and Tibi and Jayden did a lot to make it happen.

Unloaded this morning while it was Only warm. Got hot again later in the day.
Supposed to be a bit cooler tomorrow with the heat weave finally breaking Thursday.

We have "Do Not Touch" signs all around the layout but they don't seem to be working any more.
Saturday I made new signs and posted then around the layout.
"Notice of Fine. There is a $ 5.00 if a child in your care causes a derailment".
They seemed to have worked. I only saw three incidents and one of them paid up.

I made new ones today that mention a Repair charge.
Fine Sign..jpg
Will use then in future setups.
Ordered new laser modules today. Will be the power module and new crossovers.

Here are a couple more photos. One shows a Roco V100 which I got from Euro Train on Black Friday last year; the train is a combination of Tibi's double deck cars and mine. The other photo shows work outside where our hosts run their trains.
