2018 November VTE

2018 November VTE

GREAT NEWS

After resolving a few issues the Vancouver Train Expo has announced the dates for the November show.
The show will be the weekend of November 10 and 11, 2018, at the PNE Forum in Vancouver BC, with early setup on Friday the 9th.

The show used to be sanctioned and insured by the Local NMRA Division.
It grew too large for that to continue so the show has organised as a non profit society and will obtain insurance for all its members and volunteers. The show also needed a person with proper accounting experience. It now handles a serious amount of money and is of a size to attract the attentions of the Tax Man.

They have resolved enough of the issues to hold the event, although like most events I go to, they could use more volunteers.
I am looking forward to this event. It is always fun.
Manning the GuiTTar layout will be an issue as I will probably be spending most of my time at the store.
We will figure something out.

Not if Bjoern comes over. Let’s crank up the pressure on him

Received the first communication from the show today.
I have asked for the same space as last year with a note that we may grow.
I need to make a layout display with the GuiTTar layout near one end loop, facing Central Hobbies.
I have an idea how this might work. Will do some doodling in the next few days.

I've confirmed that a planned trip to Europe does NOT conflict with VTE...
so include me with the double-double (2 meters) of TT-Track modules.

Looking forward to seeing you, your modules, and your new Shapeways SD70 - Dash9.

The provisional 2018 VTE setup is as follows:

To accommodate Voytek's expanded module set, other modules have been squeezed out.
We will have enough spares on hand if some do not show.

Bill & all...
I'm going to have to eat my words.
The Europe trip (Netherlands-Germany-Denmark) went off well...
but I'm not going to be able to make the drive up to VTE this year. <<sigh>>

Bummer. Oh well a minor design for four modules. Room for a module or two from Bjoern now.

But that also means no Hopper Cars. The Horror<G>.
