The NMRA has released updated versions of RP-11 - Recommended Practices, Curvature and Rolling Stock,
along with TN-11, a Technical Note explaining the rational used.

As an example: 310 mm radius track (12.2 in) is Classification 'F"...
while 353 mm radius (13.9 in) is between Classifications "G" and "H".

The 'Classification of Equipment' analysis tends to explain why big engines and long cars run poorly and look strange on many layouts!
