2017 BCSME Display

Postby Bill Dixon » Mon Mar 27, 2017 4:12 am

Hi guys

I heard back from the BCSME. These are the weekends available.
I have deleted the weekends that I cannot be available.

April 29-30
July 1-2-3
Aug 5-6-7
Sept 2-3-4
Sept 23-24
Sept 30-Aug 1
So what weekends are you all available?

I can do all of these and I prefer the dates with asterisks:

July 1-2-3
(*)Aug 5-6-7
(*)Sept 2-3-4
(*)Sept 23-24
(*)Sept 30-Oct 1 xxx Aug 1 xxx

Are we trying to book two weekends or one?

I'm available for all weekends until September. Possibly September, too, if I decide not to travel.

July 1-2-3 is out. i have a family event that weekend.

Aug 5-6-7 is OK.
Sept 2-3-4 is OK-ish
Sept 23-24 is OK
Sept 30-Oct 1 is OK.

I would probably choose:
Aug 5-6-7
Sept 23-24

What do you all think?

I am asking for both weekends.

The hall has been rearranged. There is more open space. We can set up twelve feet by twenty-two feet. They have eighteen six foot tables to use so I will start planning a setup based on that.

The display that was there this last weekend was 10' x 22' with stanchion space all around.
They could have done 12' wide easily.

I am planning a 23' x 12' display.
There are spaces for eleven standard straight modules. We will decide which to use when we see what we have.
I have moved tables where I can to give more setback to the modules.
The orange table can be used as a work surface. There is room in the hall to setup more tables to work on.
Several turnouts are a long reach from the edge but as they are not essential to run the display, that should not be a problem.

Here is the provisional plan.
