Guys, here is the current status:
Project: TT-Tracks Layout at NTS 2016
Phase: 1 - Getting our asses and our layout to Indy
Physical percent complete: 57% (2202 km out of 3835)
Allotted time spent: 47% (2 days out of 4.25)
Performance index: 1.21

We put another ~1200 km behind us today. We crossed into North Dakota and into the central time zone. We are spending the night in Bismarck and I am watching the 4th of July fireworks from my hotel window. The cargo is still doing well, based on a non-destructive visual inspection, i.e. we didn't unload anything from the trailer, just had a look if everything seems in the exact position as loaded. One boo-boo, though: one tree that was knocked off from the only module we loaded in the trunk because I forgot to secure my laptop bag.

Welcome to North Dakota.

Well, at least it is nice and warm for North Dakota weather at the moment.

Here is the current status after day 3:
Project: TT-Tracks Layout at NTS 2016
Phase: 1 - Getting our asses and our layout to Indy
Physical percent complete: 82% (3160 km out of 3835)
Allotted time spent: 70% (3 days out of 4.25)
Performance index: 1.17

Another ~950 km, another two states. We are in Tomah, Wisconsin, just short of Madison. The progress was less impressive today because the traffic was much busier and slower as we approached Minneapolis in mid-afternoon. We dodged two nasty thunderstorms. Fingers crossed for similarly good weather tomorrow.

Overall we are doing better than expected and we will take it easier tomorrow, intending to get close-ish Indianapolis. This will leave a short drive into the city on Thursday morning.

The NTS package states that the badges can be picked up starting on Wednesday at 12:00 and that the setup is on Wednesday from 12:00 to 18:00 and on Thursday from 08:00 to 20:30.

Given all this, Bjoern and I will have a little planning powwow and we will let you know in this thread the time we will arrive at the Convention Centre on Thursday. Helping hands are most welcome from all those present on Thursday for the unloading/set-up.

You guys are making good time. You'll have plenty of time to set up and walk around to see the vendors and other layouts without the crowds in the way :) Sunday as the vendors break down their displays they usually sell stuff cheap.

Hope to see you a bit after noon on Thursday to help unload. Construction slowdowns in Indiana on I-65, so take it easy. You can head straight south from Rockford illinois and take I-74 from Bloomington Ill to Indy and will miss all the Chicago mess and tolls.

I have been having technical challenges - damaged laptop annd lack of cell phone coverage. The problems are being fixed. I'll be at the show by noon and have a list of unused name badges to use if needed.

Project: TT-Tracks Layout at NTS 2016
Phase: 1 - Getting our asses and our layout to Indy
Physical percent complete: 97% (3705 km out of 3835)

We made it to Champaign, Illinois after a very relaxed day, with a short hop left for tomorrow. We plan to get on the road fairly early in the morning and be in Indy around 10:00 - 10:30 to get our registration done. We will meet you guys at the location of our display.

And... I almost forgot the customary photo with the state border crossing.
