It is great so far!!! Tiring but still great!!!

Our modular layout is huge. And if everything goes according to plan it will be even bigger at the November show in Vancouver.

Thanks for the help with the GuiTTar case while I was away looking around. I might have forgotten to tell you the one or the other trick

I hope to find some time to take more pictures.
You gotta do much more than believe if you really wanna change things!

Here are a few photos of our first day at the NMRA national show in Portland. From the end of the MAX light rail line we walked with many many other model railroaders to the Expo Center. We began at nine in the morning and had some time to get things running, to talk with other exhibitors, and to find out what's what before the doors were opened to the general public at noon. The numbers were good and we expect more visitors Saturday than were there Friday. However, I heard once again that the number of vendors at the show has declined. Still, it is an exciting event.

My friend Graeme who is an honourary TT member toured the show wearing a TT Nut shirt. He was stopped several times by people asking about TT and he pointed them all to our display at the back of the hall. This was one reason why we had many coming by to take a look. One man, 84 years old, has original HP left over from his TT days. He said he loves TT, but he now runs Z scale.

This seems to be a TT revival in the making. One photo shows Model Railroad Hobbyist taping the trains and interviewing Bill Dixon.

I didn't take many photos. Not many of them turned out well even though I think the lighting is better than we've had in Vancouver. I'll try harder Saturday.

All in all things went well and we should have a good weekend. The few things that were a problem Bill repaired. One photo shows the repair depot where he worked.

That's it for now.

Another greaTT day.

More interest from people of all ages. Another person or two who still run TT showed up.

Felix (Gold Coast Model) and John Verser showed up bearing goodies. As well as items arranged for before the show he had the only two pre production samples of the silver Western Pacific box car. Richard and I now each have one.

We ran out of printed flyers. Richard is going to print some more tomorrow morning.

Learned something important about the SW1200s. When they slow down and get warm, one of the inner worm gear bearings has seized.
A quick test is to turn the flywheel with your finger and watch the trucks. If a bearing is seized, the truck will pivot. If the bearing is OK the truck will stay straight.

Fixed one model today. Have another two to look at.

Nothing specifically TT for sale anywhere.
We will be doing a bit of trading amoung ourselves tomorrow.

Bar Mills stopped by the table to talk TT. No he is not going to do a run of TT Scale models, not enough of a market yet to justify a production run but . . . he might do a special run of a kit or two and donate them to the cause. We will see what happens.

Time for one last meal and then pack up the motel room in preparation for the trip home tomorrow evening.
