All you get from Mr. Berka is the signal that you have to attach to the turnout. I think he also offers turnouts with signals installed per request. Moving part of the signal (or switching mechanism) is attached to the beam that moves the points and the rest to the ties next to it so the mechanism stays in place. How the switch itself is operated doesn't matter I think. All the switches and both departure signals are operated manually (using rods bellow the baseboard) on the layout shown in the video. Any point motor or servo should work just fine with it too.
