Doh! I used an old car and screwed a Kadee coupler to the bottom of it as a go between from European to American stock.

Alex, I was impressed when I first saw pictures (and then video) of your CAD designed/Shapeways-printed freight cars in their unpainted form, but I must say I'm even more impressed now! It is truly amazing what a little bit of paint can do, Congratulations, Dude! Be sure and post more after the decals!

well my first attempt at putting on decals. i used micro scale n guage decals and needless to say went damn near blind trying to put them on. and no theres nothing prototypically correct about them. after making an attempt at correctness and destroying many decals i took a close enough for me approach.as a truck driver i am not blessed with much in the way of patience. i will try to add a few more to each car when my eyesight comes back!

For yellow or black decals (not white ones) you can use special paper for decals.
Using such paper you can print your own decal on the inkjet printer.
I did it for the Shapeways PS2 covered hopper:
tt-nut-ps2-2-bay-covered-hopper-t831-130.html#p12996

Unfortunately I can't print WHITE decals, so it is useful only for black and/or color ones.

That they are, and the kit parts are great for scratchbuilding other cars as well.
