What are the steps / process for programming two decoders in different locos with different motors and different gearing for double headed traction? I have a BR185 from Kuehn and plan on purchasing the new Tillig BR186 and running them together. They will both have ESU LokPilot chips. Thx.

As you have a Lenz command station, you should be able to use their double head function.

Dang it, the speed matching was my main concern and I'd hoped there is some easier method than the one described (and the one that naturally comes to mind). Anyway, thanks for the link!

Sorry guy, that's the way you do it. I've speed matched about a dozen locos so I can run any of them together. If you do a group, be sure to set some of them to run backwards by default (more a requirement for US stuff) so that your consists can run either direction.

Nothing like a 2-6-0, an SD45T-2 and an F7B heading up a freight.

I guess it is what it is. It would probably make sense to speed match all the freight locos.
