Late July is good for my work schedule.

Is anyone thinking of driving? 2900 miles, and three days.

A good way to transport modules.

I do not think that we will be able to readily make the 2017 NTS. The 500 miles each way is a cake walk, relatively speaking. The problem is that TTerry177 has his first day of school for the 2017-2018 school year the Thursday before the show.

We will look into possibilities for how to make it work, though.

Will you even HAVE a 'work schedule' in July next year??? <grin>

NMRA National Dates are: 30 July to 06 August 2017...
I would think the 2017 NTS set-up is Aug 3rd... and open from Aug 4th through the 6th.

Ouch!
I'm not sure my rear-end could survive that...

500 miles for me is not bad. But I'm not making plans. I had plans to go to Cleveland and Indy and both got effed. If I can, I'd love to see you guys in Orlando but I'm not making plans anymore since they don't work out.

If I plan it right, no, I won't have a work schedule. But things are crazy at work right now, so I might
hang around another year. There's talk of "cherry picking" a hundred, or so, "good" cars and rebuilding
the propulsion to AC (and IGBT's)

Discussion with CaTT has confirmed that we will not be able to make the 2017 National Train Show, due to the timing of it.

That being said, we are willing to send stuff to display, if need be.

It looks like we *might* be able to make the 2017 NTS after all. Details on our plan to be posted soon.

Given how busy it has gotten at work, I probably will be done in early July. If anyone wants to do a cross country trip, even towing a trailer, and even a creative route, I would be interested. I travel pretty cheap, but I am flexible.

So Orlando this year.

Who is going to be the local point person>?

Who is going to commit to coming to the event with modules and or equipment and to help?

As noted on another thread it is now practical for me to attend.
However there is no point me coming if nobody local will be there.
There is definitely no point in bringing the layout if there will be no local modules and help there.

So who is going to commit to Orlando this year?

Someone asked in an old posting how I planned ahead.
It's simple - I Do.

I am currently talking to my wife about the trip.
I am talking to the boss about vacation time.
When they are are in agreement then the plans are set in stone. PERIOD.
I don't change them for trivial reasons.

So people start making plans. Let's see if we can make Orlando happen.
