have any of the less experienced modelers here attempted to build the SD45 yet, after reading Matts instructions and emailing him a couple of times I am finally getting to grips with this kit, so now might be a good time to list any tips that we can provide to help others get this thing built. So if you have any questions please ask.

Thanks Richard. I haven't started yet - actually I'm starting to dismantle the layout.........and there won't be any time for much except the U Boat in the coming months.

Getting ready to move again....and maybe change jobs.....

I haven't started yet, other than to order the solder and flux from Eileens.
I'm hoping my work situation is getting back to normal, so there should be some time to start very soon! I've been tempted to start cutting parts out of the fret but I know that would not be a good thing, I've got one of Ingo's air slides I made that mistake on.

Don't get me wrong here chaps, I am certainly no master of etched kits, the point I am putting across is that the more of us that actually build one the more experience is gained and maybe better ways of putting it together. This is pretty much a learning curve for us all. The completed Norkin model is a superbly made up example of a master builder and that is something we are all possibly not, the more ideas we share with each other the more of us will successfully build this super kit to hopefully a reasonable standard.

A nice offer, but I have already the brass-kit.

What is supposed to be used for the frame/power assembly? Does it fit on some existing loco frame?

If that is the case, I might be interested in getting one.

As I know, he suggested to use NOHAB, but you need a new frame.

I think someone is making a chassis for it- I thought Taxari said it was Lok-N-Roll?

Did Andrey say what the price was for a built body? I have two of the etches, but for as fast as I'm getting them built...
