i don't know the reasons specifically for gutzold's demise but i am frankly surprised that more hobby businesses in europe have not shut up shop with the ongoing economic dramas.

I read on TT-board the reason is just the retirement of Mr. Gützold.

It is my understanding that Mr. Guetzold senior will be going into retirement and they have not figured out if the kid`s take over or if the company will be sold to a new owner. If both of this options don`t work, then the company will be closing. Let`s wait and hope for the best :pray:

I found this on the Modellbahnshop-Sebnitz website and I guess that makes it official, Guetzold is closing unless some kind of miracle is happening in the near future. Make sure to order some wear & tear parts for your loco if you own one, very soon it will be impossible to get any :thumbdown:
